Gerald was born and raised in Saskatchewan, he moved to B.C. in 1977 to pursue his chosen career in law. He had already received his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1975, and that was in addition to a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the same university in 1970. After being called to the British Columbia bar in 1977, Gerald then entered the private practice of law in the Okanagan and subsequently in Vancouver.
Gerald's current practice is focused on corporate law, commercial law, real estate law and family law, with an emphasis on litigation. As a result, Gerald has had extensive courtroom experience at the trial and appellate levels, including Federal Court. He has also been actively involved in various arbitration and administrative tribunals.
In his free time, Gerald enjoys recreational hockey, skiing and cycling. He continues to be in training for his first Tour de France (or so he says).
